Murray received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh in 1949. He is a registered CPA in Texas.

With more than forty years of extensive experience in auditing, tax and management consulting, he has served clients in various industries and size. His vast experience allows him to serve a wide range of clientele, including manufacturers, distributors, professional practices, not-for-profit organizations and private foundations. His present client base is heavily concentrated in non-profit organizations, a number of which receive public funds and federal grants, and in foundations.

He has supervised and participated in numerous management consulting engagements for not-for-profits, small and large businesses, including computer hardware and software selection, personnel evaluations and analysis, and organizational analysis.

Murray has served on several committees of the American Institute of CPAs, the Texas Society of CPAs and the Dallas Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs including MAS Small Business Consulting Practices, Community Affairs, Practice Management, and Management Advisory Services.

He is actively involved in the community. He is a past president and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Vogel Alcove (Dallas Jewish Coalition for the Homeless). Murray is the Treasurer for Jacob's Ladder of Temple Emanu-El, is a member of the Board of Trustees of Temple Emanu-El, and since 1989 has been a docent for the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. He has been a Trustee of St. Marks School of Texas, a Treasurer and Director of Children, Inc. and a volunteer with the East Dallas Health Services Coalition.
